Position Description: Yacht Drafting Technician
Key Deliverables
- Develop plan in accordance with project specifications
- Maintain a working culture based on quality, respect, and safety
- Ensure that all work assigned is completed accurately and on schedule
- Provide Clear and Concise Communication
Specific Job Duties
- Study various work documents (e.g., sketches, data, specification sheets, engineering calculations)
- Develop plans, drawings, diagrams and models in accordance with effective specifications, norms and company standards
- Assist planners in participating in developing specification sheets and estimating materials
- Coordinate current projects
- Write technical documentation
- Participate in design meetings
- Maintain drawing file structures, directories and backups
- Provide AutoCad support to CC staff as needed
- Maintain drawing standards
- Assist sales by generating concept drawings
- Coordinate with naval architect about drawing matters
- Provide drafting as needed for various systems such as:
- Electrical (one-lines, connection details, panel drawings, deck plans, equipment layouts, lighting arrangements, etc.)
- Mechanical (connection, schematics, deck plans)
- Structural (create shop drawings from naval architects, create nesting files, window layouts)
- Paint (paint details such as water line)
- Joinery (cabinetry and interior layout)
- Documentation (docking plans, hoisting details)
- Read, interpret and file datasheets for products used on vessel
- Read and interpret electrical designer’s drawings, plans and instructions and create meaningful well-organized drawings
- Organize drawing packages
- Perform drawing markups after engineering review
- Enter wire identification information on electrical drawings to match pull list
- Create ‘as built‘ package based on markups from fitting and commissioning when project is completed

Position Description: Yachts Marine Electrician
Key Deliverables
Yacht Marine Electrician installs and commissions electrical and electronic systems on yachts in a fast-paced production environment.
General
- Use tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Use common stationary power tools
- Perform drilling and cutting operations in metals
- Select and use appropriate fasteners and fittings
- Follow safe yard and marina practices
- Perform basic math calculations
- Perform accurate measurement operations
- Perform layout and fitting operations
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
Electrical
- Understanding of basic electrical theory
- Use electrical measurement tools
- Install and commission onboard yacht electrical systems. ie. AC systems, DC distribution systems, inverters, marine electronics, battery systems, alternator charging systems, generator sets, alarms, gauges and senders.

Qualifications
- Certified as a Marine Electrician or experience working directly in the marine industry in a role that matches the required Occupational Duties noted above
- A combination of related trades experience and marine systems that demonstrates competency as a Marine Electrician.
- Those with demonstrated competency in either mechanical or electrical aspects of the Occupational Duties will be considered for specialized roles.

Position Description: Yachts Systems Fitting Technician
Key Deliverables
Yacht Systems Fitting Technician installs and commissions propulsion, electrical, electronic and mechanical systems on yachts in a production environment.
General
- Maintain an organized work area and identify production issues per company policy
- Have the physical ability to lift no more than 50lbs without assistance

Reports to: Operations Manager
Position Description: Fabrication/Welding Technician
Duties: In support of the production requirements, performs the following duties and tasks:
- Perform quality Fabrication & Welding duties as outlined below and by the manager and /or lead hand.
- Follow safe work practices as outlined. Report any unsafe work practice or circumstance to the manager and / or lead hand.
- Show up everyday with drive and passion to make the Fabrication/Welding department the most organized, efficient, and professional department in the company.
- Provide effective communication with all co-workers, lead hands and managers.
- Fabricate both hulls and prefabricated components for hulls from drawings as well as from verbal instructions under limited supervision. Proficiently work with aluminum plate, Tee bar, flat bar, square tube, pipe, tube and other extrusions.
- Figure out, layout, cut and fit, complex parts and shapes, using blueprints, existing structures and template materials as required to complete vessels.
- Read, interpret, draw materials and build projects from blueprints with limited supervision, producing first time quality results.
- Finish welding work to a high standard of appearance using grinder’s sanders/ die grinders / routers and other finishing tools to maintain quality.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality according to established standards.
- Work at a consistent rate to maintain schedule and quality expectations.
- Keep work areas tidy and secure.
- Assist in other production and plant areas when required
- Other duties as assigned.
Abilities and Skills:
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment and become part of the big family that is Coastal Craft.
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with our team and maintain them over time.
- Ability to follow complex written and oral instructions as given by the manager and / or lead hand.
- Proficiency in the ability to set up and weld aluminum using pulsed GMAW push-pull welding equipment in all positions and to produce sound welds at a consistent rate to maintain both schedule and quality of vessels in production.
- Aluminum Tig welding skills.
- Proficiency in marking, scribing, cutting, bending and installing to close tolerances (+/- 1.5875 MM – 1/16”).
Equipment Operated:
- Routine daily use of welding machines, routers, air/electric/die grinders, reciprocating/circular/chop/band/table saws, drill motors, drill presses and other power tools.
- Basic hand tools
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting, bending, standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift or move 25lbs constantly and up to 50lbs occasionally
- Constant exposure to chemicals and odors
- Constant ability to stand & walk throughout the workday and work in indoor & outdoor locations
- Climbing ladders, ramps and scaffolding. May require work in confined space
Safety Requirements:
- Employee must provide his/her own steel toe boots. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
- Breathing masks and other Protective Equipment are to be worn as directed, when performing tasks requiring this protection.
Reports to: Joinery Manager
Position Description: Joinery Cabinetmaker / Joiner
Key Deliverables
- Provide high quality wood joinery duties as outlined below and by the manager and or supervisor.
- Follow safe work practices as outlined including the use of Personal Protection Equipment when required. Report any unsafe work practice or circumstance to a supervisor.
- Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
- Fabricate, assemble and install furnishings in yachts or boats according to drawings, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Duties may include CNC & edge bander operation, casework assembly, specialty fabrication, hardwood breakout, counter top fabrication, solid surface manufacturing and installation. Laminate layup, veneer edging and sanding. Sanding and applying spray finishes. Many of these processes will combine conventional techniques along with automated (CNC/CAD/CAM) procedures.
- Proficiently work with all wood working equipment and tools as required by a joinery apprentice. You should be familiar with the equipment and machinery found in a custom woodworking shop with the ability to set up and use all the equipment, e.g., table saws, jointer, planer, edge bander, edge sanders and CNC machine.
- Be able to read and interpret shop and cabinet construction drawings as well as make cut lists. As an employee, you will be expected to be able to be given a drawing and efficiently build a quality piece to correct size with little direction.
- Provide effective communications with all co-workers, lead hands and managers while working in a fast-paced environment. Must work well with others and independently, with the willingness and ability to find solutions to problems.
- Complete all tasks and projects on time and on schedule.

Reports to: Paint Manager
Position Description: Marine Fairer / Painter’s Assistant
Primary Duties: In support of the production requirements, performs the following duties and tasks:
- Prepare surfaces for paint application
- Grinding and sanding
- Prepare and apply fairing compound as per established method
- Sand and prep surfaces for paint application
- Mask surfaces in preparation for painting
- Application of paints to finished surfaces, as directed, using prescribed method for type of application
- Maintain work area for safety and organization
Duties:
- Assist in other production and plant areas when required
- Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
Equipment Operated:
- Grinders and Sanders
- Sanding Boards
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting, bending, standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift or move 25lbs constantly and up to 40lbs occasionally
- Constant exposure to chemicals and odors
- Constant ability to stand and walk throughout the workday
